Chapter 02

Lucia and Hanon are having a silly mop fight when Kaito comes up from behind and holds her arm, saying its dangerous. She blushes. He says he got lost taking a detour since his usual path was blocked by tonight's festival. Excited, Lucia asks Kaito if he wants to go to the festival with her, and he agrees!

Lucia also happily notices that Kaito is still wearing his necklace, which used to hold her pearl.

Lucia excitedly tells Hanon she might confess her feelings to Kaito that night, but Hanon tells her she will turn to foam if she reveals her true identity.

At the festival, Lucia is dressed up in her kimono and waiting for Kaito to show. When he does, he's surrounded by 2 girls hanging onto him, and she runs off angry. Kaito catches up to her, saying he made a promise to her. When the other girls find him, Kaito grabs Lucia's hand and they run away laughing.

They are lying side by side by the beach, and Kaito tells her about the time when he heard the most beautiful singing voice there. He turns to her and thinks that maybe his mermaid and Lucia might be the same person. However, when Lucia tries to sing, she sounds horrible and Kaito teases her. Lucia is hurt and runs away.

Later, Kaito hears that same beautiful melody and sees his mermaid singing in the night. His heart starts to race, and he asks her what he can do to see her. It looks like he's about to confess to her, but Lucia stops him with a kiss on the cheek, telling him to Search for me.

The next day in school, Kaito apologizes for laughing at Lucia's singing the night before. Lucia then remembers what she did to Kaito, and squees to herself.
